INXS, "New Sensation"

Posted by Luminator on June 27, 2023 at 15:37:05:

During the summer of 1988, the San Francisco shoreline saw a lot of fog. We were out at Ocean Beach on one such foggy day. And of course, we talked about music. We loved INXS' "New Sensation." My friend Andy remarked to Kuma (above), "Man, how did the producer get that sound on the guitar?"

Kuma added, "The drums kick ass, too!"

In the 35 years since "New Sensation" came out, it's served as an audiophile acid test. Most "high-end audio" products fail miserably.
