Europe, "Halfway To Heaven"

Posted by Luminator on February 11, 2017 at 17:26:48:

The Fall 1991 semester was, to that point, the worst time to be a hair band. But that was when Europe released their album, Prisoners In Paradise. Though I played it here and there for audiophiles, I've only made passing reference to it here.

That album included fan-favorite, "Halfway To Heaven." I may have bought this CD single in April '92. It was the first time "The Final Countdown" was available on a CD single. During that magical summer of '92, my friends played it at gatherings, both domestically, and at sports fields. Yeah, yeah, old audiophiles tell me that this annoys them, but "Halfway To Heaven" may have appealed more to this girls, than to us guys. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this now 25-year-old ditty. One of my audiophile friends wrote, "After all the pap you hear at shows n stores, this is a relief, a breath of fresh air."
