Cinderella, "Somebody Save Me"

Posted by Luminator on February 7, 2017 at 19:52:18:

After 1984's "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions, heavy metal hit a dry spell. And then, in late '86, hair rock re-emerged, with Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet. Their Mercury labelmates, Cinderella, opened.

30 years ago, in early 1987, the video for Cinderella's "Somebody Save Me" ends with two girls walking right past Cinderella, and into the arms of Jon Bon and Richie Sambora.

The glam rock of Cinderella (terrible name for a band) combined with Poison's Look What The Cat Dragged In, and heavy metal began its 1987 comeback. And this is another shot fired from those of you who argue that 1987 was popular music's best.
