I think JG did a decent job on the Animals remaster. I own several different copies and I always compare to the OBI Toshiba Japanese remaster which is, I think, the ultimate reference. For me, listening to the last 15 seconds of Pigs II and the first two minutes of Sheep. Listen to the chirping birds. Are they three dimensional? The crappy 'oh by the way' remastering and some of the late 80's vinyl pressings you can barely hear the little chirpers.

JG did a decent job preserving the dynamic range too. Something that is pretty rare these days with the iPOD gen.
