Yes, that's tweeter to ear and that is into the far field. The true near field probably extends no further than 4' or soâ€”it's confined to an area very close to the speaker. How close depends on speaker design to some degree. What we audiophiles tend to call "near field listening" isn't a particularly accurate usage of a technical term.
