Re: What is a dedicated power line?

Posted by paulmc on February 7, 2001 at 15:16:05:

A dedicated line merely means that there is a separate run of wire back to the main breaker box for each duplex socket so called dedicated.

It is better - and it is better because it is separate. In a heavy current application it is better because the amplifier or heavy current draw piece of gear powered by the dedicated line isn't interfering with another piece of gear. In a digital environment where not much current is being drawn, a dedicated line is better for the isolation of the digital noise it provides.

Welcome to the hobby!
