There in lies the obvious problem with the challenge

The stakes are clearly too high and the interest is not in the truth but in protecting the million bucks. Too bad really. I think debunking claims made by people who are really willfully decieving the public and taking their money is a noble thing. I think unfortunately there is a breed of skeptic that isn't nearly as interested in the truth as they are in being right and "the opposition" being wrong. It is a mean spirited ego driven endevour with these folks and it is just plain nasty. There was a time when I think Randi really was doing us all a service. I think it has devolved into a Jerry Springer type side show.
