Obvious you simply do not understand.

As Leventhal took pains to explain his tables are the result of nothing more than simple elementary statistics, as he put it, "My reply is simply that my position consists of basic, uncontroversial statistics ...".

If you can find flaws in his understanding of basic statistics then by all means point it out.
