That's a good thought, 'stretching music'. I think that I/we might have done some of that already, without a deliberate and concious attempt to do so, as it has been my practice for the last several years to play some complex music very softly as a sort of warm-up or practice run, which forces a certain amount of focus and concentration due to the slightly reduced level.

I don't know if _loud_ music would be a good idea, especially if it forced a threshold shift, and the ear spent the entire session recovering.
