Different environments altogether

I prefer not using any general purpose PC for music playback. There are no monitors found near the two music systems.

Instead, I run media server software on the NAS where the library lives and feed half a dozen tiny music and video endpoints via the network. My watch/phone/pad serve as reliable remotes.

The Mac is used primarily for productivity and financial applications - although it does feed the around house / by pool system powered by a small Emotiva amp using in-ceiling speakers for casual listening. Still don't have any trouble running Squeezelite, Qobuz, SiriusXM, local internet radio, etc. under MacOS.
