I couldn't disagree any more firmly with that assertion. Sure, everyone is looking to make a buck, pound, or euro.
It was Apple that pioneered the ability to instantly download any - any piece of music you just heard and be able to enjoy it within minutes. No trips to the music store to find the CD. No waiting for Azon to deliver the media.
Instant gratification. What's not to like about that?
I am grateful for their contribution in shaping the expectation of the current audience. I'm all about being able to download a FLAC recording via any number of channels - from HDTracks to small artist collectives.
