Galante Audio introduces a high efficiency new monitor speaker.

Posted by Frank of FSAUDIOWEB on November 29, 2001 at 14:01:29:

Galante Audio is excited to announce production of their new stand-mounted, high sensitivity monitor loudspeaker. Named the Rhapsody, it made its' début in prototype form to rave accolades at the T.H.E. SHOW 2001 in January.

Availability and shipments did not start until July due to a move and production delays. Since then, Galante Audio has been been working hard to keep up with demand of what quickly has become one of the most sought after speakers in their line.

The Rhapsody features a superb coaxial drive system consisting of an 8" paper and treated fabric surround cast frame woofer and a 1" exit, aluminum diaphragm compression driver - unique in that it loads off the woofer cone as opposed to a true horn.

Until now, "high sensitivity" and "small speaker" were never able to be used in the same sentence except for those lamenting this fact. With a sensitivity of 96 dB, dimensions of 18" H x 12" W x 10.5" D, and genuine select wood veneers on sturdy 3/4" 13 ply baltic birch plywood enclosures, the Rhapsody can be driven with as little as 2 watts/ch.

It will be welcomed by many audio enthusiasts for it's easy, room placement ability and fit into a wide variety of decors. The Rhapsody has surprisingly good bass for its' size and is well balanced due to its' tuned rear porting, giving a usable frequency response of 50 Hz-20 Khz. Custom manufactured air core inductors, high quality polypropylene and polystyrene capacitors and resistors are used in their crossovers. Precision HF attenuators allow for a +- 1.5 dB contour to help insure optimum frequency response in varied room acoustics. Also featured are Edison Price binding posts for solid connections, and starting with the latest run, Discovery Cable is now replacing Esoteric Audio cable for internal hookup duty to keep delicate signals as pure and faithful as possible.

MSRP is $2400.00/pr. and they are backed by a 5 year USA warranty.
