I highly recommend a Melodiya live recording of Oistrakh and Richter playing Brahms 3rd Sonata. The other side of the lp is the Franck Sonata. I also have an lp of Johanna Martzy playing Brahms 1 that is very good. I don't know if the Melodiya is available on CD, but the Martzy is on the Coup d'Archet label and (I believe) also on CD.
