Mabel Mercer, if you can find her on CD.

She recorded on Atlantic Records. I have 4 of her records.

Some people might not call this "jazz" and she's certainly light years away from Ella in style. Not better -- or worse -- just different.

But one of the best interpreters of Cole Porter and, in general, what I have heard called the American "art song."
