Man, just downloaded the Sonata. I keep forgetting how intense Franck can be!

The central section of the 3rd movt--the half-whispered violin melody over piano sextuplets--is really haunting.

I liked the whole thing and can't imagine anyone being disappointed by the period piano. The tumultuous ending is indeed more clear and transparent than the famous Chung/Lupu.

Classic Faust as well: there are times her bow barely vibrates the string. Some may not like that. In the case of the Franck, I do.
