On some (conversion) software at least the (SACD) ultrasonics are preserved.
I've seen quite a few graphs of hi-rez downloads showing DSD-derived ultrasonic noise (which indicates the original recording was DSD). Hifi News has been publishing this data in their Hi-Rez downloads column for the past year.
