RE: Lang Lang Live in Vienna

It's almost unworthy of effort to comment on this artist, he of the fleet fingers and empty brainpan, musically speaking. He sells out in Vienna and Carnegie Hall, yet you couldn't pay me to attend a Lang Lang event (they're not concerts, but displays akin to the circus sword swallower--once you've seen what he can do, you lose further interest).
I don't know if it's the man's hard, clattery tone, ridiculous posturing and grimaces, superfast tempi, or total cluelessness as to where a piece of music might be going, it adds up to a truly unendurable package. Earl Wild calls him the "J.Lo of classical music" and that's apt enough.
He does profess a childhood fondness for Mozart, so maybe he'll grow a little, some day. He's 28.
