The 90-degree pattern versions have very wide coverage, and because they behave as a line source the far speaker's SPL only falls off by half as much as with conventional speakers, so you can still hear the far speaker pretty well. And their low-level resolution is superb, you can hear everything that's going on at a considerably lower SPL than with convrntional speakers. They are also utterly non-fatiguing, so you can listen to them all day long if you want.
