Right you are on both counts! It's indeed an ARC SP3-A1 and modded by Frank VanAlstine. I am its original owner, bought back when it was considered SOTA. It's not in use (although fully operational). I just never bothered to put it on eBay, so sits around for sentimental reasons and to collect dust. Plus it is a Thorens TD-125 and has an early SME-3009 tonearm which is in use. (I prefer it over my Linn LP-12, which I can fit with either Stax UA-7 aluminum or CF wands.)
