That is the kind of crap that would happen to me!

You could make it look like some tube amps. Cut an appropriate sized hole so the body can just fit through and glue the bottom to the hole in the punch box. Leave enough wire so you can open the box, and the asc will be sticking up like the cans at the right side (2nd row) of the attached pict.
