RE: Planars - Are they for me?

choosing between the MG12 and the MG1.6 is of course a cost/benefit calculation -they are both very good planars in their respective price range.
the extra cost of the 1.6 gives you more precision, transparency and a higher powerhandling.
it will perform with a bigger soundstage and is clearly the superior speaker.
in fact the MG12 is a wonderful "entry level" maggie, where as the MG1.6 is an outstanding speaker in all aspects !!
it will reward high class equipment in front of it and is therefore giving you a lot more to upgrade for in future....
-it depends on whether you just want a brilliant loudspeaker (MG12) or you´re keen on progressing to be a highend audiophile.....(carefull -that aspiration is not quite for free...:-))
-the MG1.6 has audiophile posibillities !
