I just sold my Bel Canto eVo and bought a pair Monarchy SM-70 Pro's. Of course, those Monarchys aren't pure class 'A' and that Bel Canto is Tripath, nor the latest ICEpower design.
The Monarchys have a slightly warmer, fuller sound that is more agreeable to me with most recordings, especially the less good ones. Interestingly, with the very best recordings, (Reference Recordings, SACDs), I might have to give the nod the Bel for ultimate transparency.
