I was just thinking about that...

We have one homeless guy in Grimsby, he sleeps on the sidewalk in a strip mall on Main Street. It is half a block to the hospital where he goes when it is too cold and presumably for elimination. He seems to be quite organized and loquacious. Plenty of homeless nearby in Hamilton, hardly an unclaimed green space without a few tents. I was thinking it would behoove the council to spend some money to get this guy housed before he creates a permission structure for more like him. But neither town councilors nor the kind of charities that get involved with the homeless are particularly good stewards. The hotel industry, on the other hand, doesn't pay its employees enough to keep a home.
