Doing a $20-30 swap on a $60-70 propane tank is a far cry from a swap on a $6-15K battery for an EV. I don't care if the propane tank has some rust marks, a cheap rattle-can spray paint-job, or even a few dings and dents--as long as it contains propane. My EV battery (being the most expensive single critical component of the vehicle) kind of raises my level of concern regarding quality/condition.
