I had one bad day - two screws on my left cleat fell out, so as I tried to disengage the pedal it did not.

The first time it happened I wrote it off to me being a klutz, but then I fell the second time and in the parking lot, realizing something was not right.

So I locktited the new screws and made it a habit of checking the cleats.

But yeah... a bit more chance of something going wrong... except they are so nice when you are rolling.
