I want law and order to apply to the police too

Posted by Dave_K on April 16, 2021 at 16:03:01:

Rules, procedures, standards of behavior, and ethics aren't just for regular folks, they apply to the police too.

When police are trained to use force appropriately, and follow their training, nobody should complain.

But I'm VERY sick of hearing excuses for cops who don't follow their training and hurt or kill somebody, or engage in criminal behavior.

If you're a fair man, you should be just as upset when a cop is reckless and dangerous with a gun as you would be when some criminal is. Actually, you should be more upset with the cop because they're trained and have a responsibility to serve and protect. They should be held to a higher standard, not a lower standard.
