My guess is that these BMW drivers know each other (as in a club). Perhaps less about being a BMW owner than their need to exhibit passive aggressive behavior ( "Look at the power I have (over you)!" ). Hell, I've seen this passive aggressive behavior with motorcycle caravans and even pedestrians purposely leisurely crossing the street in spite of traffic.
