We have central air. My AC guy recommended one of those for the bedroom we have over the garage. That room has always been a few degrees warmer than the rest of the house. We had already paid him around $800 to run a larger duct. It was going to cost a few thousand.for the unit he wanted to install. I decided to buy a portable AC unit for $300. It's a guest room. If my guests don't like it there are motels they might like better.
