RE: Anyone go through hot weather sans air conditioning?

C'mon bullethead. You recently posted that you had enough money saved to allow you to live for a year without working, and now you can't afford a measly hundred and fifty bucks for a window unit?

When I was a kid growing up in NYC (Sheepshead Bay) only two of the neighbors could afford an air conditioner. The rest of us kept the windows open all of the time and slept outside on the front porch during the worst of the hot spells. Everyone survived, nobody died or was carried off to the hospital.

Or were we a tougher lot back then?

Somehow I don't think so ;-)

Cheers,
SB
