Yes, we named our cat after a dog. I was surprised to discover later that the name goes back before the Jetsons. I was really surprised one day to see a reference to the name in the 1956 Warner Bros. cartoon mentioned in the link below, but had zero idea it went back even farther than that. We still miss that cat, the wife and me. He was the smartest/best cat I ever met. He could open drawers and doors almost as though he had hands instead of paws, although round knobs were a real challenge for him.
