'Gargle' is an onomatopoea for frequency intermodulation distortion (FMD), the naming of a thing or action by a vocal imitation of the sound associted with it (buzz, hiss, humm).
For $600 a pair of CF4s is a good deal, but unlike most people I can build a better sounding speaker for less money so that does tend to influence my opinion.
