Beauhorn Virtuoso Ref.

Posted by adog on November 5, 2000 at 07:52:09:

I have had my Beauhorns for only a week now, (breaking them in with less than great equipment) and have to say, they are by far the most impressive speaker I have owned (and almost ever heard). They put to shame any of the AvantGardes I have experienced . Once you have heard a properly executed Lowther (DX 4) in a wooden horn enclosure, you will be amazed by their most natural presentaion. The Avantgarde is now heard as having a hard (plastic) electronic glaze, unnatural, aggresive and exaggerated. I have not experimented with a sub (give that one to the A.G.S for integration)but, even in my big room, I actually have a fair amount of bass (once again, natural and tunefull). Now that I own the Beauhorns, I realize why I could never pull the trigger on a pair of the duos or trios. I am not saying the A.G.s are bad but, I find these far more like real music at a fraction of the price. They are also great looking, I was pleasently suprised. Check T's review on www. Enjoythemusic.com or contact Steve Klein at www.soundsofsilence.com for more info. Jeffrey
