Related to Tom Danley's Unique "blending of all the drivers" in a single horn:

I kidded him about the way he drills holes and routes slots into everything. LOL.

According to my weak and aging recollection, the Smallest holes in the benchmark SH-50's, couple the acoustic output of the Midrange Drivers (Paul Klipsch said "where we live.") in phase with the compression driver at the Apex.

As an inherent bonus, (killing 2 birds with one stone), the small holes act as low pass filters. This AFAIK, also prevents, acoustically, from "letting out" certain driver distortion components into the horn. Result being extreme clarity in that critical band that certainly, in 4 Dimensional, Personal Illusion, defines the old expression: "Hearing is believing."

Quite seriously, (since Stereo is a Solo Sport) I do what I call "double blind listening." Lights out and eyes shut while spinning CD's, late last night.

Even after 10 years, I discover the depth and nuance of every single , recording I own, sitting in front of a wide stage, with Headphone-Like, Micro Detail of what the producers and sound engineers put in the recordings. To quote Ralph Waldo Emerson: "The Excellent is new forever."

In addition to President Mike Hedden's Motto: "Just Listen." The phrase: "You Hear every note from every musician" presented in a great Acoustic ILLUSION I enjoy each day, should be an Addendum.
