RE: foam replacement for aer md3b

Posted by Retsel on June 23, 2017 at 10:06:32:

I recently purchased the replacement foam surrounds and spider from Zenwood audio for my Lowther DX4s, per a recommendation by Jon ver Halen formerly of Lowther America. Jon thought that the replacement foam was maybe better than the origals, and more durable. Soundwise, I think that they are at least as good, if not better, than the originals, but my DX4s were in storage for a while as I completed a house renovation project, so I may be a poor judge.

Zenwood sent me the foam surrounds/spider pronto, and their youtube video provides great info about how to do it.

I think that Zenwood would do the work for you for something like $200/driver, if you want them to do it. It is tedious work, but if you have the time, it is rewarding and saves some $.
