Jason

I have some STR Tweeter Protectors from the late 80's. I had these in my system for several years and I never heard them cut out even with a 100 WPC transistor amp, and they went in the parts box some time ago. The instructions are indeed confusing. The photo in the instructions appears to show two wires together (like thin lamp cord) on the input side (left), and two other wires together on the output side (right). Is this correct? I can't find mine at the moment to verify. If this is so then one of the Input pair (the striped one) is connected to the crossover plus, and the other one is connected to the crossover minus or Com (common). The striped wire of the Output pair should be connected to the tweeter plus (T1) while the other output wire should be connected to the tweeter minus (T2). At least this makes sense according to the schematic in figure 1, and the diagram in figure 2 in the instructions.

BTW I have no idea what wire was used in the Sentrys, but Monster XP is easily available now and reasonably priced.

Hope this helps

Paul
