Can Jordans be screechy?
Posted by chuck55 on January 13, 2006 at 21:25:23:
I am seriously considering buying the Jordan JXR6. I have always wanted to hear Jordans but no where to audition them. I have heard some comments that they can be screechy. But they have a flat (not rising) response curve unlike the older JX53. But what about metal ringing or cone breakup? Especially with solid state amplification?
I do not like B&W, Triangle, Fostex etc. They sound bright esp. in my small reflective room. I just built Tang-Band's new W4-1320 bamboo which has rising response curve. Nice sound but again, way too bright for my ears. I do not want to make another mistake.
I will use a chip amp (gainclone) and listen at 70-75 dB.
Right now I use Tang-Band W3-871s paper cone speakers. How would Jordan's compare?
