Panasonic DVD-RP61 vs. DVDRV80 ?

Anyone looked at the new DVD-RP61? How does the non-progressive performanced (i.e. interlaced) compare with the stellar DVDRV80? There are no local dealers carrying either for me to compare. My dad is buying a DVD player for a non-progressive TV, but will likely upgrade to progressive in the intermediate term. He wants a DVD player now that can make that transition but not compromise interlaced performance.
