The "A" speaker option is the same as zone 1 and the "B" speaker option is the same as zone 2. So it would be the same as described above for A, A+B, B. Some receivers with more channels (e.g. 7.1) will use the 2 additional channels to power the zone 2 speakers and still have 5.1 channels for zone 1. Some receivers may even use 2 of the 5 channels for the second zone leaving 3.1 channels for the main system. If the receiver has additional pre-amp outputs for more zones you will have to add an additional amplifier for each zone. Manufacturers and receivers use different methods so it would be a good idea to download the manuals for the receivers that you are considering.
