Hard to hear dialog on some Movies on TV

I am traveling and rent movies via Roku. Some movies the dialog is impossible to hear. (British ones especially).... The TV has minimal adjustments (No Stereo, 5.1 etc.etc.) I have fooled with the adjustments, but it does not seem to help. Is there some portable speaker that I could tap into the center channel. The TV has Digital Audio Out.
And yes, my hearing is fine.
