Ceton cable cards to your HTPC and you can stream your cable broadcast or record up to 4 channels at the same time. You can access those recorded shows from any PC on your network.You could record two shows at once and be streaming two other shows at the same time if you like to different TVs in your home. This thing does it all using the Windows Media center as the brains.
It basically does away with your cable boxes in a nutshell. All you rent from the cable company is the cable card itself.
