Newbie question on hard-disk recorder

Posted by Spike on July 7, 2000 at 18:07:23:

With the new lines of hard-disk recorders from Sony, Panasonic &
Philips, how does one maintain the flexibility of recording shows
on one machine and watching it on another. For example, if I have
two machines, one in my family room and one in the bedroom, how do
I watch the show that was recorded using the family room's recorder
in the comfortable setting of my bedroom? It seems that this feature
is lost with the introduction of the hard-disk recorders.
