You will still need an antenna. The decoder simply decodes the digital signal.
BTW, even if you go w/ satellite HD, you'll still need an antenna (but not an internal decoder - the satellite box will do this) to get over-the-air HD signals. Currently, satellite can't offer HD from your local channels.
