New projectors
Posted by jbmcb on February 16, 2005 at 07:31:48:
There were new DLP projectors demoed at CES from TI, InFocus and Mitsubishi that use white LEDs instead of a projector bulb, and are the size of a large paperback book. They are currently made for presentation use, as they have a maximum resolution of 800x600 (not enough for 1080p highdef) I think in a couple years everyone will be using white LED's for the same reason companies are moving away from CRT's. You'll probably see very high resolution LED based projectors for under $1000 soon.
