Re: AVR235

Wow, I'm planning on buying one of these today for my son. Took him around to pick out a new receiver, the old NAD amp he was using finally died. Even though there were other receivers out there with higher rated amplifiers, we both really like the way the H/Ks look and feel.

He is starting out using this unit to drive a set of HSU satellite speakers w/sub, we were originally looking at the 135. But I talked him into the 235 because of the pre-outs for future upgrades.

The H/K 635 is supposed to be a nice unit, at a much higher $$$, with a decent room correction feature. The only problem folks are reporting is a surround sound quirk, where if a digital source switches from DD to pro-logic IIx, then back to DD (as in using a Hi-Def sat/cable box), the unit locks into DPLIIx and has to be manually set back to DD. Have you found this true with the 235 also?
