Sony receiver - what new model is biggest bang for buck?

Posted by greggr on January 20, 2003 at 11:19:51:

hi

i am starting my first foray into home theater. my plan is to go with the Totem Dreamcatcher 5.1 speaker system and a Sony receiver. I am able to buy Sony products at a discount and I want some advice on which receiver to buy. i live in a small apartment and have a separate 2 channel system that's pretty decent (Symphonic Line amplification, AP virgo speaks, etc.) I don't want to buy the top of the line receiver from Sony, as these things seem to depreciate faster than a new Cadillac. Any recommendations?
