I think you've both got a point, Jack's being (he'll correct me of I'm wrong) that the original poster makes numerous references to how the differing formats sound, advises that we should choose a format, then says that formats don't actually matter anyway.
I'd put a different perspective on the original poster myself which isn't so critical, but nobody is right or wrong IMO.
If it really is the music which is most important - as it should be - I would agree that someone should look at whichever format has most of the music they listen to and let that be their primary deciding factor.
The SACD vs DVD-A war will be decided not on sonic grounds but on software availability and price.
