on your listening levels. The issues that some people notice as they increase the volume are: 1) some softness/flabbiness in the bass, 2) some darkening and loss of high frequency detail, 3) some coarsening of upper meds. These issues worsen as level increases.
To me, it's not so much a matter of increasing the ultimate volume, although the mod does do that, but more a matter of improving the sound quality within the envelope. By eliminating the signal current drain from the plate resistors, I feel the sound quality is improved.
