Listening to STAX SRS-2020ii system tonight

Posted by kh6idf on February 9, 2016 at 20:29:27:

Mostly Haydn and Vivaldi, Spotify Premium from a Denon HEOS Link driving the system on my desk. Very beautiful sound, I had forgotten how good these Stax phones (er, earspeakers) are. And to think this is nearly the bottom of the Stax line. Really making me consider moving up to some of their newer models.

The SR-202 'earspeakers' have one slightly annoying feature, any head movement while listening will create a 'rustling' sound like cellophane being crumpled. This I think is the internal dust protection layers reacting to the air movement. Not a problem if you sit still.

The sound quality is so compelling I usually end up listening for several hours!
