The guy I saw do this did have the EQ unit turned on, but not
switched into the circuit. When I told him about this, he
said WHAT! (the system was nearing one year of age, and he
thought he had been missing out on something) I then told him
it sounded better out of the circuit anyways, but this did
not console him. The next time I visited, I did a quick setup
with a sound level meter and then left it switched out of
the circuit anyways. He felt better knowing that the settings
had some sense to them...
