RE: Yamaha RX-V483 vs Denon AVR-S720W Which one should I purchase?

Posted by Rod M on July 1, 2017 at 07:42:02:

Honestly, you could flip a coin. Both a decent. Four HDMI is plenty. 7.1 is a waste, the rear two speakers are synthesized and don't do much, you'll never miss them and it just makes things more expensive and complex. I've got a couple of Yamahas and their equalization and auto-setup is great.

Look around though. I bought an RX-V5xx for around $400 a while back as it was a last year's model on Amazon. Just make sure it supports 4K UHD.
